What Pick a Place keeps about you, and why. Last updated October 17, 2026.

Your account

You sign in with Apple. We receive your name and an email address (Apple's private relay address if you choose to hide yours), through our sign-in provider, WorkOS.

Your lists and visits

We store the lists you make or join, the places on them (name, address, location, website, from Apple Maps), and your visits to those places.

When you tap “I'm here”, or when automatic visits are on, the app sends your location so it can match it to a place on your lists. With automatic visits, the iPhone notices places you stop at; the app only reports stops of 10 minutes to 4 hours, never near the home you set, and a visit is kept only if it matches a place on your lists. We don't keep a location history beyond those visits.

Your visits are private: people you share a list with see the list and its places, never your visits. They see the name on your account.

Feedback

If you send feedback from the app, we store it with what was on screen and the app version.

Who else handles it

No ads, no tracking, no selling or sharing your data with anyone else.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account in the app's Settings; that deletes your lists (for everyone on them), your memberships, your visits and your account. Questions: privacy@pickaplace.fun.
